Clarification on the Categories of Ugandans Stranded Abroad
On 2nd May 2020, the Uganda Embassy in Berlin put out an announcement seeking to register and verify stranded Ugandan nationals who were in its area of accreditation (Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, The Vatican, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Romania), and because of the COVID-19 pandemic, were not able to return home.

The targeted categories then were students who had completed their studies and short-term visitors of all categories.

This is to clarify that the following categories of Ugandans willing to return home in Uganda should register with the Embassy urgently and if possible not later than 13th May 2020:
  1. Ugandans on short visitor visas (tourist/business/conferences, etc.) who were unable to return to Uganda;
  2. Ugandans who got stranded in the Embassy's area of accreditation while they were in transit from another country;
  3. Ugandan students who completed their studies but were unable to leave and return home to Uganda;
  4. Ugandans who lost their jobs due to layoffs related to the COVID-19 pandemic and have requested to be allowed to return to Uganda.
If you fall in any of the above mentioned categories and had not yet registered with the Uganda Embassy in Berlin, please send us your contact details, including the following;
  1. Current address and telephone contact in your host country,
