GERMAN FIRM SHOWS INTEREST IN SUPPLY OF MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT FOR PIPELINE CONSTRUCTIONS IN UGANDA

H.E. Ambassador Marcel R. Tibaleka, on 29th October 2018, met with Mrs. Waltraud Vietz, President, Vietz Group of Companies when the latter paid a courtesy call at the Uganda Embassy in Berlin. Mrs. Vietz was accompanied by Dr. Marcus Bennettberg, Senior Consultant and Regional Director from Vietz GmbH, Hannover.

Mrs. Vietz briefed the Ambassador on her upcoming business trip to Uganda in December 2018 where she hopes to explore the possibilities of establishing up a centre for the supply of machines and equipment for pipeline construction in the region. She requested to be facilitated in setting up meetings for her team with officials from the Uganda Investment Authority and the Ministries of Energy and Mineral Development, and Water and Environment.

Mrs. Vietz informed her host that Vietz Group of Companies consists of Vietz GmbH Hannover and Vietz Schweisstechnik GmbH in Leipzig as well as further international representations spread over four continents. The company has more than 40 years of experience in construction sites producing machines and equipment for pipeline constructions.

"We supply construction companies which lay gas, water or oil pipelines on land or under water.  We manufacture trend-setting welding technology, pipeline bending machines, vacuum pipe lifting devices, pipeline testing technologies and much more related to the field. In addition to that, we have sales and customer service points all over the world," she said.

Amb. Tibaleka welcomed the Vietz Group of Companies' interest in investing in Uganda and promised to facilitate meetings between the company team and the requested for entities in Uganda.
