Ambassador Tibaleka meeting with Mr Peter Schrum, Chairman, SUNfarming GmbH
H. E. Ambassador Marcel R. Tibaleka has met with Mr Peter Schrum, Chairman, SUNfarming GmbH and discussed prospects of investing in Uganda. The meeting took place at the Uganda Embassy, Berlin, on 2nd August 2018 and was attended by Ms. Sisi Modise, Coordinator Uganda SunFarming Projects.

Ambassador Tibaleka welcomed Mr. Schrum and was pleased with SunFarming's interest in investing in Uganda. He accepted an invitation to visit the company premises so as to view its innovative Food and Energy solution which promotes bio-food security and an adequate supply of green electricity, production of medicinal bio-herbs and introduction of electro mobility. He added that he looked forward to seeing SUNfarming bio-food being grown in Uganda because, following the video clip he had been shown, the plants require 90% less water due to the company's cutting-edge irrigation system, 90% less fertilizer used and 90% less chemicals injected/sprayed. This would make SUNfarming food products very nutritional to promote good health in Uganda.

Mr. Schrum announced that SUNfarming GmbH had reserved up to $50 million for investing in its Food and Energy Projects in Uganda. He said the Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development had invited him to discuss the feasibility for a small project at the Institute and Rev. Florence Muranga would be heading a task team to work with SunFarming on the project. Mr Schrum and his team will be in Uganda for field visits from 20th to 24th August 2018.
