Ambassador Marcel Robert Tibaleka presents his letters of credence to His Excellency Klaus Werner Iohannis
Ambassador Marcel Robert Tibaleka, Uganda's non-resident envoy to the Republic of Romania presented his letters of credence to His Excellency Klaus Werner Iohannis, President of the Republic of Romania on the 18th July 2018 during an official ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Bucharest.

After the official ceremony Ambassador Tibaleka had his inaugural audience with H.E. President Iohannis during which the two held a wide-ranging discussion on various bilateral issues between Uganda and Romania, focusing mainly on ways of further expanding and deepening economic cooperation between the two countries and giving priority to areas of mutual interest such as agriculture, tourism, energy, infrastructure and trade.

Ambassador Tibaleka conveyed greetings and a special message from H.E. President Museveni to H.E. President Iohannis and thanked him for his audience and for the opportunity to serve as Uganda's Ambassador to Romania. He expressed his desire to contribute dynamically to identifying new opportunities for the consolidation of relations between the two countries that have existed since 1969 and reiterated Uganda's strong desire to further strengthen its relations with Romania in all areas.

President Iohannis cordially welcomed the Ugandan envoy and expressed interest in further deepening economic and trade ties by promoting interaction between Ugandan and Romanian business organisations, as well as by expanding cooperation in various fields.

Ambassador Tibaleka is Uganda's ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany resident in Berlin. He also represents Uganda in Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, The Vatican, Slovakia, Bulgaria, and Poland. He is also Uganda's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Agencies in Bonn and Vienna.
