Brigadier James Mugabe Birungi, Chief of Staff, Uganda Peoples Defence Air Forces has paid a courtesy call to the Uganda Embassy where he met with Ambassador Marcel R. Tibaleka and other Embassy officials.

Brig. Birungi, who was accompanied by his ADC, Captain Joseph Otim Okello, is in Berlin to attend the Innovation and Leadership in Aerospace Expo (ILA Berlin 2018) that is taking place at the Berlin ExpoCenter Airport from 25th to 29th April 2018. Over 1,000 exhibitors are showcasing their expertise ranging from civil aviation to defence, security and space, and from major corporations to highly specialized suppliers.

Amb. Tibaleka welcomed his guests and wished them a good experience at the air show. He tasked them to take advantage of the delegates program to network with the relevant stakeholders so as to gain valuable insights into innovative projects and products.

Brig. Birungi, on his part, pointed out that the Berlin Air Expo is expected to foster dialogue between high-ranking generals, leading politicians working on defence and security issues as well as defence industry experts and cyber security researchers. About 200 military aircrafts will be assessed both on the ground and in the air, while visitors will have the chance to see cutting-edge designs first-hand. The aviation industry and the military are expected to present a wide-range of successful collaboration between defence forces and industrial partners.

ILA Berlin 2018 stands out for its international character because of the delegations expected from over 100 nations and is destined to showcase the power and scope of Europe's military aerospace industry.
