Uganda has emerged as the fifth Best Exhibitor at the just concluded ITB Berlin, the World's Leading Travel Trade Show. This was announced by Hon. Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu (MP), Uganda's Minister for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities at a reception hosted by Amb. Marcel Tibaleka, Uganda's Ambassador to Germany at his official residence.
Hon. Prof. Kamuntu thanked the Ugandan Exhibitors for a job well done noting that Uganda had improved from the tenth position it twice held in 2015 and 2016. He said that the award was a quality indicator that Uganda had an attractive trade fair presence. Within the framework of ITB Berlin, awards and prizes are awarded at various competitions - for special scientific, artistic or sustainable achievements in various areas.
During this year's ITB Berlin that ran from 8th to 12th March 2017, the booths or stands of each exhibiting country were evaluated by the Cologne Business School (CBS) in cooperation with ITB Berlin. This well established Best-Exhibitor-Award is under the patronage of Klaus Laepple, Honorary President of the Deutscher Reiseverband e.V. (DRV) and President of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Tourismuswirtschaft e.V. (BTW).
